Where it all began….

ginnydear:

ginny weasley, who breaks down sobbing during her sixth month of her first pregnancy, because she realizes she doesn’t know how to nurse, and she doesn’t know how to swaddle, and she doesn’t know how to do anything, and she’s tired of people telling her she’ll be fine, because “your mother is molly weasley! you’ll do great” but she isn’t her mother, and people keep forgetting that

ginny weasley, who is terrified of holding james sirius, because her hands shake whenever they want from curse damage, and she doesn’t want to upset this little bundle of peace, and she refuses until harry just tells her to think of james as a quaffle, and that’s how she handles holding all of her children

ginny weasley, who has the hardest time when albus severus colics, and no matter how many magical remedies her mother insists will work, nothing helps, and then james wakes up and wants attention as well, and despite how much help she’s getting from harry and her mother and brothers, she cries from relief when albus finally sleeps during the night and she can get some decent sleep

ginny weasley, who gets postpartum depression after lily luna is born. she had little cases of the ‘baby blues’ after the boys, but in the weeks after lily is born, harry notices that ginny isn’t the same. she tries all she can to get away from the kids, and she breaks down crying late at night. and molly, who never had anything that severe happen to her, doesn’t know what to do, and it’s hermione who tells her of the muggle treatments that help.

ginny weasley, who watches with bated breath as lily luna picks out a diary, and carries it with her everywhere she goes, and decorates the outside until it’s unrecognizable. when lily offers to show it to her mother one day, ginny momentarily panics, but then she remembers that this is her daughter, her happy, upbeat, whimsical daughter, and she reads a couple pages and sees some drawings and later that night she cries, not because she’s sad, but because some part of her is utterly relieved.

ginny weasley, who works hard at being the best mother she can be, because she’s broken and cracked, and her scars are those her children can’t see, but she pushes through the curse damage, and the ptsd, and the irrational fears, and makes sure that her kids never deal with anything as dark and evil as she did.
